Throughout the year, AYDT offers special events and activities to build community and enrich the student experience. Check our calendar for upcoming events.
Opening our doors to the community
Movie Nights – Take a dance class, make a craft, and enjoy pizza and a movie while parents treat themselves to a night out or some quiet time at home. Open to the community, bring a friend!
Lucy Walsh Benefit – Held annually in Ma, this event raises money for the Lucy Walsh Fund. This event features a performance by the AYDT Firebirds, followed by a reception where guests often wind up dancing the night away! This event is open to the general public, rsvp required.
Enriching our student experience
Serious Dancer Workshop Series – A curated series of workshops for upper-level dancers, specializing in nutrition, wellness, and self-care for the active body, as well as exploration and guidance on summer intensives and integrating dance into college and career pathways.
Guest Teachers – Opportunities to study with renowned guest artists, learn new skills, or try a new dance style in a workshop setting. Throughout the year, students have additional opportunities to learn cultural dance styles through AYDT Elevates.
Love Your Body Week – In-class activities reinforce kindness, positive body image, gratitude, and care for our healthy bodies.
Rotating Dance Party – A fun-filled Saturday afternoon dance party for children in grades 3 through middle school, led by the AYDT Firebirds. Proceeds go towards Dance Against Cancer.
Earth Week – In-class discussions and activities to inspire simple daily actions towards environmental sustainability.
