About Us

American Youth Dance Theater is a private, non-corporate dance school for children and teens ages 18 months to 18 years, established in New York City since 1996.

With highly experienced, consistent teachers and a nurturing, student-centered approach, our dance education philosophy promotes learning in a positive, developmentally sound environment, celebrating individuality and promoting a healthy lifestyle and positive body image.

Small classes with lots of individual attention guide our dancers to grow in confidence, technique, and self-expression, helping each student aspire towards their personal goals, reach their highest potential, and feel a sense of pride in their accomplishments.

We pride ourselves on being a welcoming community for all children, regardless of income level, and on the fact that many of our students continue and grow with us from their early years through high school graduation, creating long-lasting friendships along the way.
