Summer Dance Intensive 2024
AYDT is thrilled to announce our upcoming two-week pre-professional summer intensive, running from July 22 to August 2, catering to dancers aged 11-18. This intensive promises an immersive experience where participants will refine their craft in a diverse range of dance styles, including Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip Hop. In addition to honing technique in these familiar forms, dancers will have the opportunity to broaden their skill set through exploration in Modern Dance and Choreography.
But that’s not all – our program goes beyond just movement. Participants will delve into the rich tapestry of dance history, deepen their understanding of anatomy and injury prevention, and engage in rejuvenating practices such as Pilates and Yoga. And let’s not forget about the excitement of our elective dance class, promising to add an extra layer of enjoyment and exploration to the experience.

Two-Week Intensive Details
Requirements
Participants not enrolled in American Youth Dance Theater’s school year program are required to send a video audition submission to [email protected] before enrolling.
Video Audition, no more than 6 minutes in length, must include:
- Ballet Barre: pliés, tendus from 5th position, rond de jambes, adagio and grand battements
- Ballet Center: tendus from 5th position, adagio and petit allegro
- Jazz or Contemporary: a combination or solo demonstrating turns, jumps and floor work.
Students enrolled in American Youth Dance Theater’s Graded Level Ballet 5 and up, and Open Level Ballet 3 and up, are eligible to register without video submission.
